Staying safe to revel in the 2017 Brazilian carnival
Brazil is my favorite country in the world and the carnival is also my favorite annual event there.
However much I love Brazil, there’s no denying that the country suffers from series personal safety risks, especially for travelers.
Theft and violence are widespread in big cities and many travelers arriving the revel in popular cities, like Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Salvador de Bahia and Recife, unfortunately become victims to tricksters and pickpockets all too easily.
In 2017, I went to both Rio and Salvador during carnival and found it to be noticeable safer than in the previous years. 😀
Nevertheless, vigilance is still important to survive the carnival unscathed. Here are my tips for staying safe during the Brazilian carnival! 😊
