5 reasons to visit Poland

Poland is country of roughly 40 million people located in the eastern part of Central Europe.

It borders Russia (Kaliningrad exclave), Ukraine and Belarus, and so with the Russo-Ukrainian War dramatically escalating in 2022, the country say millions of refugees from Ukraine, in addition to, the large Ukrainian and Belarusian diasporas already living there.

The country provides a large number terrific options from its capital, Warsaw, to Gdansk on the Baltic Sea to Krakow, it’s cultural capital.

1. Rich Cultural Heritage

Poland has a rich history and culture that is reflected in its architecture, art, and cuisine. Visitors can explore medieval castles, Gothic cathedrals, and museums that showcase Poland’s tumultuous past and vibrant present.

2. Natural Beauty

Poland is home to stunning landscapes, including the Tatra Mountains, Biebrza and Bieszczady National Parks, and the Masurian Lake District. These areas offer ample opportunities for hiking, skiing, and other outdoor activities.

Polish women are also known for their beauty, the country’s other ‘natural beauty’. With the influx of Ukrainians and Belarusians, the beauty bar has been set even higher than before. All this makes Poland, a great alternative to Ukraine, Russia and Belarus, in light of Russia’s expanded invasion of Ukraine in 2022.

So what do Polish women think of foreign guys? Well I shot a street interview video a few years ago asking that very question:

        3. Vibrant Cities

Poland’s cities are bustling hubs of culture and activity. Warsaw, the capital, is a dynamic metropolis with a thriving arts and music scene, while Krakow is known for its historic architecture and lively nightlife.

Here’s a sample of what to expect on New Year’s Eve in Krakow in a vlog that I shot many years ago (please turn on the subtitles in the YouTube settings for the parts in French):

        4. Delicious Food and Drink

Polish cuisine is hearty and delicious, with dishes like pierogi (dumplings), kielbasa (sausage), and bigos (hunter’s stew) that are sure to satisfy any appetite. Visitors can also sample Polish beer, vodka, and wine, which are all renowned for their quality.

        5. Great Value for Money

Poland is one of the most affordable countries in Europe, making it an ideal destination for all travelers. Visitors can enjoy high-quality accommodations, food, and experiences without breaking the bank.

To give you a much more visual representation for the reasons to visit Poland, I’ve put together this summary from the country itself:
